Nancy and her son Micheal looked so wonderful the day of their shoot. Everything was calm and beautiful...until they brought the dog in. Oh my goodness. I have never seen a dog act more crazy jumping and slobbering and just barking. It took them 20 minutes to calm him down. But then, all of a sudden, he looks at the camera with his crazy goofy grin...and steals the show!

On top of a Mountain-A Georgia wedding

Mallory and Adam made their vows to each other on top of the world this past June. High on top of Stone Mountain in Georgia, they had a private small ceremony. The only thing missing was their photographer who had cancelled earlier that day. That's where I came in. I also happened to be on top of this amazing little mountain while on Vacation with my family. I saw a need, stepped in, and the rest is photography history. What a beautiful experience to be a part of. I will cherish this day for years to come.

This above shot was taken before I even offered my help. I could not let this event go without being documented. It was too beautiful.

The Manti Utah LDS temple was a beautiful setting for the wedding of this wonderful couple. I happened to be in Utah visiting my family during the summer, so when a friend of ours wanted to book us for her wedding, it worked, out wonderfully. I have not really spent much time at the Manti temple, but it was such a wonderful experience to shoot there. And I also found out that my grandparents and great grandparents were married there. There is a castle-like feel to the structure and the setting, and it was really a special day.

We had very limited time for this family shoot. The oldest son had just returned from a mission and was off to the Air force Academy within weeks. The day we chose was raining and stormy all day, yet we decided to try anyway. As we walked out to the beach, the heavens parted and allowed us to shoot without rain. It was amazing. And I sure love this beautiful family.

I rarely find a family of this size that is so well behaved. Even in our hot weather, they were just wonderful sports and so fun to photograph. Later, I found out the key to these parents success: Good behavior earned these kids a day at Disney world directly after the shoot. Clever parents.

The future is FULL of possibilities for this beautiful young girl. What a magical day we had capturing these wonderful images in St. Augustine Florida for her Senior class portraits. Around every corner, there was another amazing old doorway, or beautiful old wall. We made a girls week-end of it and Savannah brought along her mom and sister, and I brought my two girls. Fun was had by all...but I had the time of my life shooting in such a beautiful old city with so much character...with a girl that simply can't take a bad photo. Thanks Savannah for dancing in the streets, being fearless, and adding so much life to this shoot.

St. Augustine is an amazing place to shoot photography. I feel like it has endless possibilites. If anyone is interested in booking a shoot in St. Augustine, I am willing to travel the 2 hours for the shoot. It would just be an addition traveling cost associated with my normal rate.

Brittany and Spence...their joyful day

You can see the joy on the faces of this young couple. I absolutely loved being a part of their wonderful day. The minute I met them, I knew they were going to be fun to work with. They were happy, and upbeat, and carefree, and playful...even with the stress of a RAINY wedding day I might add. It started pouring 10 minutes after they came out of the Orlando LDS temple, just as we were beginning our pictures. They made sure the mood stayed light, and their playful and positive attitudes helped everyone remember what the day was really about. The joining of these two wonderful people. With the help of my talented friend and assistant, Rachel Mann, we didn't let the rain get in our way. We were creative, and got the beautiful shots that we wanted.

At the end of our photo session, this couple had a few minutes to themselves while they were waiting for a ride to their reception. My assistant and I were packing up our stuff when we looked over and saw this beautiful scene. We both grabbed our cameras, and in secret paparazzi style, caught this couple in a perfect moment. This photo happens to be Rachel's work. PERFECT! I think this image speaks so clearly of the love these two feel for each other.

More Baby Bliss

Baby cuteness was in the air this week. This little guy is so adorable and so squeezable. Not sure that he loved being changed into outfit after outfit or being put in all these different situations, but it worked to our advantage. He was a sweet sleeping baby by the end of the shoot. I really enjoyed working with the Torro family.

She is here! This sweet little baby is Eva Louise Rose, baby girl of one of my dear friends. We have all been anxiously awaiting her arrival and we are so glad that she is here. I had the time of my life as I got to play with her for a an hour or so as we took these pictures. Only a week and a half old, but already a beauty, just like her mom. Sigh.

The term "glowing mother-to-be" must have been made for Sara Rose. This dear friend of mine is so beautiful, and pregnancy does not change that one bit. She is such an amazing person inside and out, and a wonderful mother as well. Someone that has made me a better person just by knowing her. Can't wait to meet this little baby girl.

I will be able to use a handful of backgrounds for each child. Since we will be on a lovely piece of property, we can have a variety of beautiful things in our background. In addition to the beauty this yard will provide (fields, fences, trees, etc), I will also have some backdrops available. (Black, denim, distressed wood, antique white door).

In honor of Kinsey's 16th birthday a few weeks ago, I wanted to post one of my favorite pictures of her. I took this two years ago. At the time, I had been doing photography for years, but mostly with my film SLR, and mostly just for my family and close friends. I knew it was time to get a digital SLR, and maybe start a business, but needed a little push. Well, a photographer friend and mentor of mine let me use his digital SLR for a few days to see how I liked it. He encouraged me to take as many pictures that I could, figure out the camera, and see how I like it. I loved it of course and took some of my favorite pictures of my kids that week-end. This is one of those shots. Soon after this, I got my own digital SLR and started expanding my client base, and have loved every minute of it. Thanks for that push Craig!

This is Jessica, one of my beautiful and talented friends. She is probably the most talented musician that I know. To hear her play is truly inspiring. She started playing the violin when she was two, and has spent her life as a musician, playing with many symphonies. But now she adds wife, mother, and writer to her talents. In fact, she is the mom of sweet little Suzie from a few posts ago. We are lucky enough to hear her play in church and at parties...and every time is a treat. I wish you could have heard what I heard as I took these shots.

I took these shots of Clay right before his Eagle court of honor so they could be included in his slide show. As much as he hates being the center of attention and having his picture taken, he was a good sport. Clay is such an amazing kid and has overcome so many things in his life. What an accomplishment this Eagle award is, and what an example he sets to others. Not just in scouting, but in all aspects of his life. So proud of him.
